Benchtop, high performance preclinical SPECT scanner to be exhibited in booth #413

Winnipeg, Manitoba – July 21st, 2014 – Cubresa today announced it will exhibit its Spark compact SPECT scanner at the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC), September 17th through September 20th in Seoul, Korea. The Spark is a high performance SPECT scanner optimized for imaging mice. Low-profile, solid state detectors minimize its size and weight, enabling it to be more easily deployed as a lab bench instrument, saving valuable floor space. The Spark features up to 25 densely-packed pinhole apertures per detector, and can be configured with up to 4 heads, delivering up to 100 pinholes for high sensitivity and angular sampling. The 4-detector configuration eliminates gantry rotation altogether, shortening scan times and improving temporal resolution during dynamic acquisitions.

The Spark’s small form factor simplifies integration with existing microCT scanners, letting researchers obtain fused SPECT/CT studies without the need for mouse repositioning, streamlining workflow and maximizing the value of existing preclinical CT investments.
