Ron Sabourin is the Chairman of the Board of Cubresa and has been involved in the start-up and management of several technology-based organizations over the past thirty years. Ron, a Certified Management Accountant, has acted in the roles of Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer at IMRIS Inc., Centara Corporation, Broadband Networks Inc., ABL Canada Inc., and Ericsson Canada Inc. Ron’s expertise includes management of overall financial operations, strategic planning, public and private equity offerings, the negotiation of successful strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions.
Gene Dunn is Chairman of Monarch Industries Ltd., a large manufacturing company with production facilities in Winnipeg Mb Canada, Winkler Mb Canada and Shanghai China. Mr. Dunn is Past Chairman of the Canadian Football League (CFL) Board of Governors, Past Chairman of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Club and continues to serve on the Board. He serves on the Board of The Boyd Group Inc. which is North America’s largest auto body and glass repair conglomerate and is past member of the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Mr. Dunn has a strong background in strategic planning and corporate restructuring.
George Abe has served as the President & CEO of Cubresa since June of 2015. He has spent his professional career building science and technology teams and businesses of all types, with recent emphasis on imaging technologies and life science applications. Prior to Cubresa, he was CEO of Emerald Biosystems. Prior to that, he was CEO of Cambridge Research & Instrumentation (CRi), which was acquired by Caliper Life Sciences (now PerkinElmer). He has also held management positions with technology pioneer BBN (now Raytheon). George has served on numerous private, public, and non-profit boards, and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He received his B.S. in Engineering from Trinity College, his M.S. in Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and attended the Greater Boston Executive Program at the Sloan School of Business at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Bob Schellenberg is Director of Operations at Cubresa. He has extensive experience in prototype and production manufacturing, assembly and test. Prior to Cubresa, he was most recently Production Supervisor at IMRIS Inc. from 2006-2011. Prior to IMRIS, Bob founded and operated a design and manufacturing company, HRS Enterprises. He has filed 1 patent.
James Schellenberg, Founder of Cubresa, has participated in start-up technology companies from 1989 to the present. He has executive management experience with Broadband Networks Inc., Nortel Inc., Centara Corporation, James Schellenberg Inc. and most recently with IMRIS Inc. He has participated both as an investor and contributor for numerous technology based companies, including Texar Corporation, Edge Networks Inc., Esion Networks Inc., Photonami Inc. and iMagicTV. James graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1990 and has filed over 10 patents.
